“INQUIETAÇÃO”

«Geralmente funciono no campo da arte, quando as imagens que me vão surgindo se tornam obsessivas e que resultam geralmente de vivências, e raramente de memórias. Desta vez foram imagens e títulos, o que não era habitual.
Agora estamos a viver uma das crises mais longas e penosas, de total desmoronamento e tensão, e sem saída à vista, o que nos deixa pouco espaço para podermos ser pessoas inteiras.
De qualquer modo Portugal, é um belo país do sul, frágil, emotivo e pouco racional, que oscila entre o bom comportamento e o desregramento. Penso que ainda não decidiu, se quer ficar, ou não, na União Europeia, com a qual não parece identificar-se o suficiente, ou se prefere orientar-se por outros continentes.
Mas parece que toda a Europa vai ter que alterar o seu atual sistema estrutural e de funcionamento, que não se sabe como será, e quanto tempo irá demorar.
Talvez por tudo isso, senti que era altura de atuar, desviando a minha atenção para a arte, através da minha última obsessão, a da crise, a última que tenho vivido e assim poder observá-la de uma maneira mais distanciada.
Os meus filhos, e do Eduardo Nery, a Paula e o Miguel, assim como o Paulo Pires do Vale, incentivaram-me e ajudaram-me muito a avançar.
Não é por acaso que os títulos da exposição sejam: os principais ”Inquietação” e “Sala de espera”, e os subtítulos: “O desenho da menina a fugir do seu suporte”, “Os móveis a fugirem do seu desígnio” e “Os móveis a assumirem a sua inutilidade”.»

“INQUIETAÇÃO”

«I usually work in the field of visual art, when the images that come to me become obsessive, usually resulting from experiences and rarely from memories. This time these were pictures and titles, which was unusual.
Now we are experiencing one of the longest and most painful crises of total collapse and tension, with no exit in sight, which leaves us with no space to be complete.
Either way, Portugal is a beautiful Southern country, fragile, emotional and not very rational, which oscillates between good behavior and lawlessness I think it has not yet decided whether it wants to stay in the European Union, with whom it does not seem to identify itself enough, or if it prefers to turn towards other continents.
But it seems that all of Europe will have to change its current operating structural system, it is not known how it will be, and how long it will take.
Maybe because of all this, I felt it was time to act, turning my attention to art, through my latest obsession, the crisis, the last I have lived, and thus be able to see it in a detached way.
My children, and those of Eduardo Nery, Paula and Miguel, as well as Paulo Pires do Vale, encouraged me and helped me to move forward.
It is no coincidence that the main titles of the exhibition are: “Inquietação” and “Sala de Espera” and the subtitles are: “O desenho da menina a fugir do seu suporte”, “Os móveis a fugirem do seu desígnio” and “Os móveis a assumirem a sua inutlidade.”»
