“LUMIÉRE TOUJOURS”

No âmbito da 6ª edição do Festival Temps d’Images e da Presidência Francesa da União Europeia, a Embaixada de França em Portugal abre o Palácio de Santos à arte contemporânea.
De 8 de Novembro até 17 de Dezembro a Embaixada acolherá, no seu interior, peças de artistas portugueses e franceses e uma grande instalação de luz no muro circundante do Palácio, visível desde a Calçada de Santos até à Avenida 24 de Julho.
O público poderá descobrir não só a riqueza patrimonial do Palácio de Santos (os salões, a capela, a sala das porcelanas), mas também obras de arte contemporânea existentes (obras de Martinha Maia, Jacques Villeglé, Hubert Le Gall) e as que serão exibidas excecionalmente para esta ocasião: Among the trees, uma obra de Pedro Cabrita Reis, concebida especificamente para este evento (Coleção Berardo); Árvore sem Sombra de João Paulo Feliciano (Coleção Berardo), apresentada ao público uma única vez, no ano passado na Assembleia da República; uma instalação de Nuno da Silva (Galeria Caroline Pagès) e uma instalação da artista de Lyon, Perrine Lacroix, Lumières d’aveugles (Galeria Caroline Pagès).
No muro circundante do Palácio, projeções de imagens de luz concebidas e realizadas pelos artistas Nuno Maya e Carole Purnelle, mostrarão, em tamanho natural, cidadãos franceses em Lisboa, iluminados pelas cores da bandeira francesa e da Europa.

Under the 6th edition of the Temps d’Images Festival and the French Presidency of the European Union, the Embassy of France in Portugal opens the palace of Santos to the contemporary art.
From November 8 to December 17, the embassy will host in its interior, pieces of Portuguese and French artists and a large light installation on the walls surrounding the Palace, visible from the Calçada de Santos to the Avenida 24 de Julho.
The public can discover the rich heritage of the Palace of Santos (the salons, the chapel, the porcelain room), but also contemporary art that belongs to the embassy (Martinha Maia, Jacques Villeglé, Hubert Le Gall) and those displayed for this occasion: Among the trees by Pedro Cabrita Reis, designed specifically for this event (Berardo Collection); Árvore sem Sombra by João Paulo Feliciano (Berardo Collection); an installation by Nuno da Silva (Caroline Pagès Gallery) and Lumières d’Aveugles by Perrine Lacroix (Caroline Pagès Gallery).
On the walls surrounding the Palace, projections of images of light designed and made by the artists Nuno Maya and Carole Purnelle, will show, life-size French citizens in Lisbon, illuminated by the colors of the French and European flags.
