“CHANTIER”

Carla Bolito, Isabel Ruth, Vera Mantero, Luciana Fina 

O canto revelou-se em ocasiões e tempos diferentes:

…numa peça de teatro – Carla Bolito – em Seres Solitários de Lúcia Sigalho interpretava Sino all’ultimo minuto de Piero Ciampi e renovava extraordinariamente o sentimento de solidão e estranheza do cantautor italiano.
…numa performance – Vera Mantero – convidada no projeto. Sequência para um estado de graça, filme Super8 de Luciana Fina, mantinha-se longo tempo silenciosa junto às imagens, até soltar o canto, num poema de Caetano Veloso sobre o tempo.
…num filme – Isabel Ruth – em Appassionate de Tonino Di Bernardi. Um rosto e uma voz que pertencem à alma do cinema português e que souberam encarnar a língua, a visceralidade e a teimosia da mulher napolitana.
…neste chantier – Luciana Fina – pede às três artistas para cantarem frente à sua câmara, para voltar ao canto no espaço íntimo e no tempo largo de um retrato em movimento, num trabalho de criação para uma instalação vídeo.
O olhar recolhe nos rostos a espera, a procura, o silêncio antes do surgir da voz, e o canto. Entre a imagem e a voz, entre o tempo de uma canção e o tempo de um retrato. Nos rostos, à procura de uma interioridade da imagem, de um lugar de profundidade. No espaço mais íntimo do canto e do olhar, ao encontro da ressonância do tempo.

(EN) Synopsis

The singing was revealed at different times and occasions: 

… In a play – Carla Bolito – on “Seres Solitários” by Lúcia Sigalho played Sino all’ultimo minuto by Piero Ciampi, and changed dramatically the feeling of loneliness and strangeness of the Italian author. 

… In a performance – Vera Mantero – invited for the project “Sequência para um estado de graça”, a Super8 film by Luciana Fina, remained silent a long time near the images until she releases the singing on a poem by Caetano Veloso about the time. 

… In a movie – Isabel Ruth -“Appassionata” by Tonino Di Bernardi. A face and a voice that belongs to the soul of Portuguese cinema and knew how to embody the language, the visceral and the stubbornness of the Neapolitan woman. 

… in this chantier – Luciana Fina – asks the three artists to sing in front of her camera, to return to the singing in the intimate space and in the long time of a still picture, in a work creation for a video installation.

The look on the faces reveals the waiting, the searching, the silence before the rise of the voice, and singing. Between image and voice from the time of a song and the time of a picture. The faces, looking for an interior image of a place deep. Within the innermost place of singing and seeing, to meet the resonance of time.
