LabOfilm & 1: O Lamento da Branca de Neve é um projeto que questiona, aprofunda e estabelece vínculos entre a poética da linguagem cinematográfica e o ato coreográfico. Olga Mesa parte desta relação para depurar a sua escrita artística: a coreografia e a mecânica da sensação, o fora de campo, a dupla visão, a câmara cega, o corpo abandonado, os textos para (não) serem escutados.
Com O Lamento da Branca de Neve quero conhecer a matéria real dos sonhos; quero construir um sonho. Quero perder-me através de um espelho (não) visível onde o espectador se possa ver refletido; que possa sentir o seu próprio tempo e ter a sua visão. Quero que possa recordar que todos somos vítimas e carrascos, seres humanos perdidos, frágeis, abandonados, mas também capazes de matar. Porque a qualquer um de nós, como à Branca de Neve de Walser, podem perguntar-nos: “Pensas que te queria matar?”.
Com este lamento quero que sejam visíveis, desde longe, os diferentes planos narrativos da Branca de Neve; a que se desperta com a memória da guerra e da infância dizendo: “mais do que ver, prefiro escutar”.

LabOfilm & 1: Snow White’s lament is a project that questions, deepens and establishes links between the poetics of the cinematic language and the choreographic act. Olga Mesa starts from this relationship in order to distill the elements of her artistic language: the choreography and mechanics of sensation, the ‘hors champs’, the dual vision, the blind camera, the abandoned body, to the texts (not) to be heard.
With Snow White’s lament I would like to know the real material of dreams; I would like to build a dream. To lose myself in an (in)visible mirror where the viewers can see themselves reflected, where they can feel their own time and have their own vision. I would like it to be remembered that we are all victims and executioners, lost human beings, fragile, abandoned, but also capable of killing. Because each of us, like Walser’s Snow White, can ask themselves: “Do you think I wanted to kill you?”.
With this lament I want to make visible, from afar, the different narrative planes of Snow White, who wakes up with the memory of war and childhood saying “more than seeing, I prefer to listen.”
