“O estado salvaxe é uma performance criada depois de muitas conversas com a minha avó. Ela é a única atriz na peça. Através de imagens Super 8 gravadas pelo meu avô entre os anos 50 e 80, reescreveremos a história da minha família, e, ao mesmo tempo, a história de Espanha desde a Guerra Civil até o presente. É o testemunho de uma mulher que passou muito tempo em silêncio e que tem um grande desejo de falar, muito a esclarecer, tanto para reparar. Trata-se, acima de tudo, de um ato de amor lúcido e extremo, de um ataque de romantismo antes de queimar os navios. Numa carta para as suas netas, a minha avó tece a sua biografia, questionando o seu passado, o seu presente e o seu futuro, num exercício de honestidade brutal que lança luz sobre o que significa estar vivo hoje.”

“O estado salvaxe is a performance created from many of the conversations I had with my grandmother. She is the only actress on the play. Through the Super 8 images recorded by my grandfather between the 50’s and 80’s, we will rewrite the story of my family, and, at the same time, the history of Spain from the Civil War to the present days. It is the testimony of a woman who has spent a long time in silence and who has a great desire to speak, much to clarify, both to repair. It is, above all, an act of lucid and extreme love, an act of romanticism before burning the ships. In a letter to her granddaughters, my grandmother weaves her biography, questioning her past, her present and her future, an exercise with brutal honesty that sheds light on what it means to be alive today.”
