DISPLAY de António MV e Cátia Pinheiro tem como mote a superlativação do ego do artista.
Como referia Marcel Duchamp, “A palavra “artista” foi inventada quando o pintor se transformou num personagem.” É partindo deste cliché que se pretende criar um dispositivo plástico que nos reposiciona em relação a algumas operações artísticas que marcaram a história da arte dos últimos 100 anos: do ready-made ao pastiche, do re-enactement ao happening, do remake à recriação, numa releitura meta-discursiva dos postulados de Benjamin, Warhol, Beuys, entre outros.

DISPLAY by António MV and Cátia Pinheiro has as a motto the superlativation of the artist’s ego.
As stated by Marcel Duchamp “The word “artist ” was invented when the painter became a character.” Starting from this cliché we aim to create a visual device that repositions us regarding some artistic operations which have marked the art history of the last 100 years: from the readymade to the pastiche, from the re-enactment to the happening, from the remake to recreation, in a meta-discursive reading of the postulates of Benjamin, Warhol, Beuys, among others.
