MEDO

FEAR

Two people, who manifest an archival knowledge about fears, sit side by side to evoke past, present and future fears, autobiographical or not. Fears that turn into sociological ones, in expressions of the political control that is exerted onto society, onto people. From the internal conflicts of each performer is built a fragmented presentation with the right to small acts of healing which pretend nothing more than transforming poison into medicine.

I AM AFRAID TO GO TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY DEPARTMENT

I am afraid of having huge debts I do not know. I’m afraid to wait forever. I’m afraid to call them to make an appointment. I guess I only went there once and I would like to never go back there. I am afraid to witness dramatic situations and to think that there is nothing I can do. To think that my dramatic situation will also happen, maybe just inside my body. That there are millions of people in much worse situations and that it is absolutely ridiculous to be born into this, to be numbers and have functions and to live forever under the tyranny of a daddy – of several daddies – who fuck us anyway they can. I prefer no father at all to these daddies and daddies of those.

FEMINISMS

In a nostalgic and personal way, some of the most significant moments for the art of feminist performance are evoked, followed by a personal reflection on the practice of feminism nowadays. The lecture ends with the re-creation of two feminist performances of the twentieth century.

I asked her what she thought about the emancipation of women, and she agreed, then asked her what she thought about women being able to demonstrate their sexuality without taboos and she agreed once more, then I asked her what she thought about domestic violence and its increase due to the crisis, especially among young women, and she told me she felt bad, and finally I asked her what she thought about the role of feminists in society, and she replied that feminists think a lot about them, that they are very selfish.
