“I WAS THERE”

Ainda nesse aperfeiçoamento infinito da repetição teremos perdido o tempo em que as coisas sucederão de verdade. E enquanto tratamos de revivê-lo para impedir que seja passado, outro tempo distinto estará a acontecer, e nesse, sem dúvida, não seremos os mesmos.
Este encontro com seis mulheres é um exercício de memória subjetiva, de situações cruzadas, onde “a mulher“ é o grande mistério inquietante e sugestivo. A força e a fragilidade unem-se para criar mais uma contradição. Onde está a verdade, no que vemos, ou no que sentimos? Um trabalho que parte do encontro de todas elas num não-lugar.
Conheço-te, mas não sei o teu nome. Lembro-me deste lugar, nas não sei se estive aqui. Estas expressões são cada vez mais quotidianas e usadas… perdemos a memória.
Neste projeto, estou interessado em encontrar uma reação física às sensações criadas pelas experiências vividas, ou seja, parto da memória, sem ser objetivo, transformando o impulso da primeira recordação para poder criar um quadro coreográfico à distância. Utilizo o vídeo em I was there como se fosse a ficção dessas memórias, e trabalho no palco a realidade dessas mulheres diante de um público, e o modo como, de uma situação “backstage“, avançam para a ficção, criada pelas próprias no ecrã. Nós estamos na realidade, e elas levam-nos para a sua ficção… I was there.
(EN) Synopsis
Even in this infinite improvement of repetition we will have lost the time when things will really happen. And as we try to revive it to prevent it from being passed, another distinct time will be happening, and in that, with no doubt, we will not be the same.
This encounter with six women is an exercise of subjective memory, of crossed situations, where “the woman” is the disturbing and suggestive great mystery. Strength and fragility unite to create yet another contradiction. Where is the truth, in what we see, or in what we feel? A work that starts from meeting all of them in a non-place.
I know you, but I do not know your name. I remember this place, but I do not know if I was here. These expressions are more and more used every day… we lose memory.
In this project, I am interested in finding a physical reaction to the sensations created by the lived experiences, that is, I begin with memory, without being objective, transforming the impulse of the first memory in order to create a choreographic picture at a distance. I use the video in I was there as if it were the fiction of these memories, and I work on stage the reality of these women in front of an audience, and the way how, from a backstage situation, they advance to the fiction, created by themselves in the screen. We are in reality, and they take us into their fiction… I was there.
