Senso, uma novela em forma de diário, foi publicada em 1883 e é considerada a obra mais significativa de Camillo Boito. Foi adaptada para cinema por Luchino Visconti, em 1954.
Senso, em italiano, tem o significado de senso, sentido, sentimento e sensualidade. Uma concisa palavra que resume quase toda a obra.
E de tudo isto é feita a personalidade da protagonista, a Condessa Lívia Serpieri.
Tendo como universos de referência a forma literária do caderninho secreto de Boito e a teatralidade e requinte da forma fílmica de Visconti, esta construção dramatúrgica vive entre o tempo da representação e o tempo de um retrato, jogando com a presença da personagem e as convenções do teatro, os artificialismos do drama e o valor e eficácia da realidade bruta.

“SENSO”

Senso, a novel diary-like, was published in 1883 and is considered the most significant work of Camillo Boito. It was adapted for film by Luchino Visconti in 1954.
Senso, in Italian, has the meaning of sense, feeling and sensuality. A brief word that summarizes nearly all the work.
And from all this is made the personality of the protagonist, the Countess Livia Serpieri.
Having as reference universes the literary form of the secret book of Boito and the theatricality and refinement of the Visconti film form, this dramaturgical construction lives between the time of the representation and the time of a portrait, playing with the presence of the personage and the conventions of the theater, the artificialities of drama and the value and effectiveness of gross reality.
