Entre as sombras de Miles Davis, o Príncipe Negro, e a luz de um futuro que se aproxima a grande velocidade, o trompetista norueguês Nils Petter Molvaer, tem-se movimentado como poucos na vanguarda dessa “nova conceção de Jazz”. Conciliando imagem, instrumentação eletrónica e acústica, programação e improvisação, o jazz soa no trompete de Molvaer ao ritmo das diversas linguagens da eletrónica atual, do breakbeat ao techno, do ambient ao drum and bass.
O concerto de Lisboa é, dado o seu contexto, uma ocasião especial, e, por isso será um desses momentos irrepetíveis, desta vez com toda a banda e uma «partitura de imagem». Jan Martin Vaagen explora uma linha de improvised visuals usando câmaras em direto, sampling de imagem, vídeos produzidos e luz, criando uma envolvente visual que partilha a mesma energia da banda.

“IMPROVISED VISUALS”

Between the shadows of Miles Davis, the Black Prince, and the light of a future that is approaching at high speed, the Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer, has been moving, as few, in the vanguard of this “new conception of jazz”. Conciliating image, electronic and acoustic instrumentation, programming and improvisation, jazz sounds of Molvaer on trumpet to the rhythm of various languages of current electronic, from breakbeat to techno, from ambient to drum and bass.
The concert in Lisbon is, given its context, a special occasion, and therefore will be one of those unique moments, this time with the whole band and an ‘image score’. Jan Martin Vaagen explores a range of improvised visuals using live cameras, sampling of images, videos and light, creating a visual environment that shares the same energy as the band.
