No dia 15 de Abril de 2015, Josephine Witt, ativista “freelancer”, interrompe a conferência de imprensa do Banco Central Europeu (BCE) atirando ao seu presidente, Mario Draghi, confettis e panfletos. Essa intervenção, desde o momento em que a ativista se levanta da primeira fila até ser levada pelos seguranças, durou 23 segundos. No entanto, as fotografias feitas pelos jornalistas presentes na sala vão circular durante as próximas 24 horas nas televisões e imprensa do mundo inteiro. Este vídeo é uma montagem e uma tentativa de reconstituição dos micro-acontecimentos presentes nas fotografias encontradas desse evento.
Confronta o tempo original da ação, com o tempo fotográfico – expandido – desse mesmo acontecimento.

Patrícia Almeida é fotógrafa e cofundadora da GHOST Editions juntamente com David-Alexandre Guéniot. Vive e trabalha em Lisboa. É formada em História pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa e em Fotografia pela Goldsmiths College em Londres. Interessa-se por fotografia enquanto linguagem e território de pesquisa e de criação artística. As suas exposições tomam frequentemente a forma de instalações cruzando vários suportes e materiais de produção de imagem: impressões fotográficas, livros de artistas, posters, jornais, vídeos ou imagens projetadas. Os seus projetos começam frequentemente por ser livros ou publicações artísticas, o que constitui um traço muito importante do seu trabalho.
Em 2009, foi nomeada para o prémio BESPhoto pela sua exposição e livro ‘Portobello’. Integra, desde 2003, o POC/Piece of Cake, uma rede de artistas europeus e norte-americanos que trabalham com fotografia e vídeo.

On April 15th, 2015, Josephine Witt, a freelancer activist, interrupts the European Central Bank (ECB) press conference by throwing confetti and pamphlets to the president Mario Draghi. This intervention, from the moment the activist rises from the front row to being taken by security guards, lasted 23 seconds. However, the photographs taken by the journalists in the room will circulate over the next 24 hours on television and in the press around the world. This video is an assembly and an attempt to reconstitute the micro-events present in the photographs found of this event.
It confronts the original time of the action, with the photographic time – expanded – of that same event.

Patrícia Almeida is a photographer and co-founder of GHOST Editions together with David-Alexandre Guéniot. She lives and works in Lisbon. She has a degree in History from New University of Lisbon and in Photography from Goldsmiths College in London. She is interested in photography as a language and territory of research and artistic creation. Her exhibitions often take the form of installations across multiple media and imaging materials: photographic prints, artist books, posters, newspapers, videos or projected images. Her projects often start out as books or artistic publications, which is a very important feature of her work.
In 2009, she was nominated for the BESPhoto award for her exhibition and book ‘Portobello’. Since 2003 she has been part of the POC/Piece of Cake, a network of European and North American artists working with photography and video.
